How the lighted tops are built

Like the main doll case, the lighted top is very labor intensive.
It starts out with 6 x 1" cedar boards cut to 4" width and the length to fit the top
of the doll case to fit into the groves. The corners are cut to 45 degree angles
and framed. A piece of 1/8th. inch Masonite is cut and glued and nailed over the top.
Then the whole top is sanded and stained to match the doll case.

Raw Frame                          Electric        Battery operated, batteries  included

There are two choices for the lights, electric or battery operated. The battery eliminates
the cord, not quite as bright as the electric but quite adequate for cases around 10" square.
Included with the lighted top is the regular Plexiglass cover for the doll case and a light diffuser so
the bulb or bulbs do not show.

Considering the cost of the wood, Masonite, cords, bulbs, bulb seats or battery
operated light and you can see that I just about break even on the lighted top's.
Most is labor and as stated I build these cases and lighted tops to keep busy
since my wife passed away from cancer.

The lighted top lifts off so the case can be displayed with out it if wished.
